We are excited to announce that the Circle K International Board of Trustees has approved five new Tomorrow Fund grants. With help from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, the following CKI clubs and districts will receive funding to distribute much-needed supplies to vulnerable populations — especially children — across the United States. CKI members love to serve, and grants from the Tomorrow Fund help them do just that.
We look forward to seeing the impact these exciting projects make as CKI members come together to promote the education, health and comfort of those in need.
Clubs
University of Windsor, Eastern Canada District
Back-to-School Program
University of Windsor CKI is partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and local social services to distribute 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need. The start of a new school year can be an especially challenging time for families in low-income communities. The club hopes to ease the financial burden on adults while ensuring that students have everything they need to succeed in school.

No-Sew Blankets and Tie Dye T-Shirts For Moore County Children’s Advocacy Center
The Moore County Children’s Advocacy Center in North Carolina, U.S., streamlines the efforts of agencies investigating and interceding in child abuse cases to lessen the children’s trauma. Sandhills Community College CKI is assisting those efforts by making approximately 250 no-sew blankets and oversize tie-dyed T-shirts to help kids feel comfortable and safe during interviews, counseling sessions and exams — situations in which having something soft to hug or wear can make all the difference.

Helping Hands: Refugee Packages For One World, One Love
Rowan University CKI is making kits to help One World, One Love support refugees from around the world settle into new homes in New Jersey, U.S. The kits include items that are often overlooked in relief packages — such as toiletries, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, winterwear, socks and undergarments — that will help to protect against illness, unsanitary conditions and adverse weather. The club also hopes to raise awareness of the need to support refugees both in refugee camps and as they acclimate to their new communities.
Districts
Texas-Oklahoma District
Hope for the Future: Children’s Disaster Backpacks
For an upcoming retreat, Texas-Oklahoma District CKI will participate in a backpack-stuffing drive to support the district’s “Hope for the Future” project. CKI members will fill backpacks with school supplies, toys, toiletries and activity booklets, and emergency rescue teams will distribute them to families that have been displaced due to bad weather. The supplies will help to restore normalcy for kids who have lost everything or who are unable to access necessities.
Florida District
Veteran Hero Care Packages
As part of this year’s Rebuilding Heroes CKI Governor Project, CKI members in the Florida District will join with other members of the Kiwanis family to assemble 280 care packages for veterans who are reentering civilian life. The care packages will be filled with candy, gum, lip balm, socks, activity books and playing cards, and they will be decorated with designs and messages thanking the veterans for their service. Each participating club will take home packages from the district-wide event to be distributed by veteran group homes and veteran hospitals in their communities.
