What is that (or RSS) box?
Circle K International provides a RSS feed to its members so they can keep current on any and all Circle K news. The feed contains all recent stories from the “Headlines” section of the Circle K International Web site.
How do I use the service?
Members will need a RSS aggregator or personal portal page to use the RSS service. On most browsers, you can right-click the XML box and select “copy shortcut” or “copy target address” and then paste the address into your aggregator or personal portal page. All aggregators and portal services are different, and you should consult your specific instructions for information on where to paste the address.
How does it work?
Circle K International publishes the news to a specific Web address (http://www.circlek.org/news/articles.rss). Your aggregator or portal page reads that address and delivers the news to you as it becomes available. Be aware that some aggregators and portals only publish news within a certain time frame (last seven days). Generally speaking, though, that time frame can be adjusted so if you don’t check back everyday, or even every week, older news still will be available to view.
Where can I get an RSS aggregator or personal portal page?
Several companies have downloadable aggregators for use. Below is a list of Web sites where you can purchase RSS aggregators. Keep in mind there are different types of aggregators for different types of operating systems. A Macintosh aggregator will not work on a PC and visa versa. If you subscribe to a Yahoo!, MSN, Hotmail, or G-mail e-mail account, you have a free personal portal page (at MyYahoo, MyMSN, etc.) already. You can import Circle K International’s RSS address to display Circle K headlines in a news block on your portal page (see your portal’s instructions).
